National Human Rights Consultation Report

The National Human Rights Consultation Committee handed its report to the Attorney-General, the Hon Robert McClelland MP, on 30 September 2009.

The Committee would like to thank the many thousands of people who have contributed to the Consultation by sharing their views with us by attending the 66 community roundtables, providing us with in excess of 35,000 submissions and attending the three days of public hearings. The fabulous response to this Consultation suggests that the time is right for our elected leaders to take new steps to protect and promote human rights.

The Committee looks forward to the Australian Government's reponse to its Report.

The report is available in HTML on this site from the Contents page and also in DOC and PDF formats from the Report Downloads page.
