Public Hearings 1 – 3 July 2009
As part of the National Human Rights Consultation, the Committee held three days of Public Hearings from 1 to 3 July 2009 in the Great Hall of Parliament House in Canberra.
These hearings were an opportunity for Committee members and the public to access more detailed information from human rights experts and to hear from some of those in the community who lodged submissions.
Please see the program for details about the speakers, organisations and topics discussed during the hearings.
Proceedings were also filmed and will be broadcast via the Australian Public Affairs channel at a later date.
Videos of the Public Hearings are now available.
