National Human Rights Consultation Submission AGWW-7N498P Name: Suzanne wickham Submission Text: Hi I am a Murdoch uni 3rd year student and would like to raise a few points that should be considered. With the drafting and implementation of a new human bill of rights I strongly urge that forward thinking be employed in all aspects of change e.g. long and short term implications to any change. I also urge you to consider the past in how human rights have been abused or ignored or perhaps overlooked, then consider what needs changing to avoid this situation from reoccurring again. Human rights acknowledge the choice that all individuals should have world-wide and when these choices are violated there should be a zero sum tolerance to this, with clear outcomes that should be adhered to world-wide. If we keep a human rights bill simple then we have more chance of making it work. By simple I mean we all have the right to choose, freedom and protection, consider these three rights and you will find that they apply to all people and to all situations. Page 1 of 1
