I would like the Federal Government to enact legislation to
 
provide Australia with a charter of human rights which defines the rights
 
and responsibilities of Australian citizens and ensures they are legally
 
protected.
 

 
The government should include a Minister with responsibility for human
 
rights and the area should be adequately resourced, including funding for
 
mandatory civics education in all primary and junior secondary schools.
 

 
The curriculum should cover both rights and responsibilities of all
 
Australian citizens, including the responsibility to participate in
 
compulsory voting. Only citizens should be allowed -- and required -- to
 
vote.
