National Human Rights Consultation Submission AGWW-7Q8E6A Name: Rob Perks Submission Text: I honestly don't believe that there is a need to "re-invent" the wheel when it comes to having workable Human Rights for all Australians. One only needs to look at the Annotated Constitution, the Charter of the UN with the UDNHRs for a great solid base of fundamental inalienable HRs. What my submission would focus on is the addition to this in order to bring about a workable solution to seeing these HRs being used for the good of all Australians and for the benefit of mankind. Firstly, through campaigns and other such initiatives to raise knowledge of, and awareness of what are HRs and how when can apply these in living live. Similar to the Youth for Human Rights DVD, which I have seen, being conducted by Church of Scientology. Secondly, I strongly believe that the lapse of education of HRs and how these effect one's live, and the entire planet is of utmost importance, that needs to be taught amongst all our schools, so that there is no grey areas with the next generations, leaving a claer path of understanding. Thirdly, I can not but put forth the necessity to have a thrid unbiased party, commission etc, that would be selected from the people for the people to oversea, the laws coming out of Parliamnet to ensure that none are violationg upon or directly are in conflict with any HR. Fourthly, it is not enough that we get these being known and being adhered to here in Australia, but it is our duty of care for mankind to see that wherever HRs are being violated that we as a Nation send a clear message of zero tolernace for it, and apply all available pressures to seeing that the offednig country seeks to amend it's violation(s), otherwise, we remain as guilty as they do in any and all violations. Millions around the world are dying because of the violations of HRs, and as a country and as individual beings, we can not hope for the improvement of our country without extending that care to others where needed. Lastly, the HRs would need to be voted upon and taken as a majority vote amongst all the peoples of Australia who wish to participate and that once done, they are committed to the constitution for now therefore, ensuring that they are never open to the willy-nillyness of any future Politician, President, PM or whatever. We have seen what occurred in the USA, and their Patriot Act I & II. The complete violation of the HRs as laid down by their founding fathers were swept aside in the name of fear and other such actions which have led to nothing but further degradation, war and violations of HRs.
