I wish to oppose the concept that Australia isn't doing enough
 
in the field of human rights and therefore needs a charter of rights to
 
protect its citizens.
 
To move down this path will, in effect, take the power of the people that
 
is invested in the Parliament and place it in the hands of the non- elected
 
Judiciary. This would be present a seismic shift in our system of
 
government, which once in place would be almost impossible to reverse.
