I would like to speak against a national rights charter. I
 
believe that legislating a rights charter will take power away from elected
 
officials and put it in the hands of judges. I believe this to be very
 
dangerous. I don't want to see judges interpreting what our rights are.
 

 
I would like to speak against religious vilification. Religious
 
vilification takes away our basic right to freedom of speech. The case
 
against the two pastors in Victoria is the perfect example of what happens
 
when someone exercises their religious faith and someone disagrees.
 
Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion without being dragged before a
 
tribunal by someone who has a differing view.
 
Please let us not go down that road.
