National Human Rights Consultation Submission AGWW-7R7DCQ Name: David Elias Submission Text: Young people up to the age of 25 years who are out of work and still living at home are not entitled to social security benefits and have to suffer the indignity of relying on handouts from their parents because these benefits were removed courtesy of the Howard govrenment. In earlier times these young adults might have been called upon to serve their country by a somewhat discriminatory lottery system, but were at least given the right to vote. Even criminals in corective institutions receive remuneration. I think it is a disgrace that this has been allowed to continue. It needs to be reversed to give these young people their dignity and rights. Page 1 of 1
